Suze Orman Tells Forbes, “The American Dream Is Dead!”

Suze Orman recently proclaimed in Forbes Magazine that The American Dream is Dead (http://blogs.forbes.com/jennagoudreau/2010/11/23/suze-orman-the-american-dream-is-dead/) – the days of owning your own home, working at one place for your lifetime and retiring at age 65 are over!

I agree that the days of owning your own home (unless you buy one you can truly afford), working at one place for your lifetime and retiring at age 65 are over, but that does not mean the American Dream is over.

Americans are entrepreneurial – that is the heart of the American dream, they roll with the punches and they persevere- Bill Gates started Microsoft in a recession.

What is gone is expecting that life is going to be easy or that you will be handed something – those days are over. We all must work to achieve what we want and America remains the best place in the world to have the opportunity to achieve.
